Dear Friends and Future Donors,
1. I would like to introduce you to one of my orphans that I met at the India orphanage that I was assisting. I met Sahanara when she was 12 years old. She ran away from home at age seven because her mother was going to kill her only because they didn't need another girl in the family. Since I returned to India to see her every year I was able to witness her outstanding abilities in her studies. So when it came time to enter college she had no chance because of being a woman, being a christian, having a muslim name, and having no money. However Sahanara pass the entrance exam and qualified for honors law college. Therefore, she was accepted and MMPI has provided the five years required to get her degree. She was number one student each year. In February she took her bar exam and passed. Sahanara has passed many trials to achieve her dreams. Now she wants to get her International Degree at Stetson Law College in Saint Petersburg, Florida so she can do more for her own people. Hopefully she will be in the USA this July 2018 again to accomplish another step of her dream. Sahanara is reaching out for grants and scholarships ignorer to be accepted in Stetson. She is now 24 years old.
2. My current missionary work for the last six years has been in Uganda to continue helping the children and community of Mityana. It is such a pleasure to serve and improve their quality of life so they can have a chance using the opportunities to grow. They have been provided a quality education in many areas and living skills to make a difference in their futures. Plus they are taught responsibilities and high standards.
This year of 2017 we have been able to bring in 13 students from underprivileged government schools plus two girls from a private orphanage that was being miss treated. The school and orphanage children are respectful and anxious to please what ever is asked of them. But besides what I teach them, they also teach me a lot about life. I am so blessed to be a part of their lives. This year the students were able to move into their new dormitories so MMPI converted one dorm into a library and the other dorm into a computer classroom with nine computers.
2018 UPDATED NEWS LETTER
MMPI founder will be working with the school for six weeks during June and July to teach and incorporate the needed programs along with Richard donating three weeks of his time. This year is providing many growing opportunities for the 414 children at Nabembezi Primary School. MMPI is introducing eleven more computers so more students can take advantage of furthering their education. A computer teacher will be added. After finishing primary school (7th. grade) many students don't have the privilege of furthering their education because of lack of parental support. Therefore, it is MMPI's goal to provide trades that can help their futures. Another curriculum is farming, sewing, and raising poultry 1500 chicks at a time. The farming will be installing drip irrigation. At the same time we supply school supplies. To make a lot of this happen I must give a special thanks to Richard and Patty Dunn for contributing their business knowledge, time, and financial funds. I can't help but thank God for opening doors that I could never do. Also MMPI is reconstructing the road that leads to the school which will help the community better access. It will be named JUDITH AVE.
HOW YOU CAN HELP
Without contributors like you MMPI could never make a difference. I have a minimum of 38 students that need a sponsor so they won't be put out in the street where they will be kidnapped into hard labor and prostitution. As you can see there are many needs to make a difference in a child's life. BUT for you it is so easy to contribute by sponsoring a child for only $35.00 per month. This educates, feeds, and provides a change for each child. Disease takes many of their parents away but it isn't their fault. Please take this situation seriously so we together can make a difference. Please contact me for extra information. (mmpinternational.org) My contact name and number is Judy Grim - 727-422-2244 so I can walk you through it.
Some people are called to go into the mission field and others are called to donate. It takes both to succeed.
WHAT TO EXPECT IN VOLUNTEERING
MMPI would love to have volunteers to travel with MMPI to Uganda and stay the time they choose. If you choose to come with MMPI, here is what you can expect. You can live with the children in their dormitories 24/7 and love on the children and assist in their homework. You have a hole in the ground or in a nightly bucket as your toilet plus you will be given a gallon of cold water for your bath. Your food consist of beans and posho (white cornflower cooked to a paste) for both lunch and dinner. The town of Mityana is closed enough to walk or you can take a Boca Boda (local small motorcycle) Your experience with the locals is very rewarding and memorable .
